Vision and Mission

Vision:

Sustainable cooperatives, sustainable development.


Mission:

To build sustainable cooperatives in the agricultural, non-agricultural, financial and service sectors by increasing the capacity of cooperatives and creating entrepreneurs.


Functions:


1. To inspire all sections of the country in the cooperative ideals/philosophy;


2. To establish good governance in cooperative societies through inspection, inspection and supervision;


3. To enhance professional skills by creating higher training opportunities for officers and employees of the Department of Cooperatives;


4. To enhance the skills of cooperatives and assist in the creation of entrepreneurs through training;


5. To promote cooperative values, organize publications, seminars and workshops and provide institutional recognition to strengthen cooperative networking;


6. To create self-employment through capital formation and investment;


7. Implementation of cooperative-based projects and programs for the empowerment of rural women and the general public and for socio-economic development;


8. Assisting cooperatives in developing their skills in branding cooperative products and establishing market linkages;


9. Providing necessary support in achieving the objectives and implementing the functions of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Department.
